Having opened the doors of their strategic advisory and insolvency practice in April 2015, Jamie Playford and Jo Pyman, Directors of Leading UK have a lot to smile about having completed an incredible first year of trading. Initially based in a small office off King Street, the team have been able to expand into large city centre premises within the Norwich Lanes and have witnessed an explosion in requests to work with new business owners under their Leading Strategies Sector.
Jamie Playford, a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner confirms “As well as providing insolvency and restructuring services, we recognised a gap existed in the market to provide practical support and advice for individuals who are just starting out on their business journey, or who have a business that is growing faster than they can cope with. Whilst we know there are a variety of services that exist to help new business owners, we felt the advice provided was very ‘tick box’ and basic in nature and did not truly help that client to achieve their business aspirations”.
One client whom Leading Strategies have recently worked with, Damien Liddle from Main Source, based on Pottergate in Norwich Lanes says “The team at Leading Strategies have really helped me to get my business off the ground. As well as providing sensible, practical advice, they have been invaluable in terms of getting me set up from scratch with all of the tools and systems I need to help me keep a close eye on progress, for example, helping me to implement a cloud-based accounts package as well completing the regulatory requirements with Companies House.”
Jo Pyman says “We are delighted that our first year of trading has been so successful and that we have been able to support a number of local businesses in Norwich, as well as further afield. Whilst we are still able to offer insolvency and restructuring services, it really is fantastic that we are helping new business owners avoid some of the common pitfalls they might face, ensuring they get their business off to a great start.”
